About the role

Job Summary:

The Director of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives. This role involves leading and managing a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and marketing leadership, preferably with experience in the commercial roofing industry.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Goal Setting:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Set realistic, measurable targets for sales and marketing teams.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy adjustments.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, develop, and manage marketing and sales team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and accountability systems for team members.
  • Directly involved in hiring, training, and restructuring the team as needed.

Budget Management and Resource Allocation:

  • Oversee sales and marketing budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation across initiatives.
  • Analyze return on investment for marketing campaigns and sales efforts.


Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities and trends.
  • Analyze competitor strategies and market positioning.


New Growth Development and Execution:

  • Create and execute new growth initiatives to expand market presence and revenue.
  • Focus on demographic specifics for growth directives.


Forecasting and Reporting:

  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and revenue projections.
  • Create and present regular performance reports to the leadership team.
  • Ensure sales targets are consistently met or exceeded.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other departments such as operations, project management, and finance.
  • Contribute to shaping company policies and long-term strategic goals.


Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing and sales management, preferably with commercial roofing sales and/or MSA sales experience.
  • Skills:
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellence in team leadership and development.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Innovative mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with estimating.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis using relevant software packages.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems (currently using Monday.com).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organization.


  • Prior experience in commercial roofing sales is beneficial, but strong general sales leadership experience is also valuable if paired with a willingness to learn about roofing.
